Synopsis :
Stephen Ashe (Lionel Barrymore) est un brillant avocat qui défend avec succès Ace Wilfong (Clark Gable), un élégant gangster accusé de meurtre. Mais il apprend bientôt que sa fille Jan (Norma Shearer) est tombée amoureuse de son client au point de quitter son petit ami (Leslie Howard) pour le malfrat.
